Baghdad 16-18/9/26 The conference focused on current developments in obstetrics, gynaecology and women’s health, bringing Iraqi specialists together with international speakers. The society describes the meeting as a forum for discussing advances in women’s healthcare and developing professional and scientific collaboration.
Overview and published information
The published faculty was quite international, with specialists from Iraq, the UK, Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, Lebanon, Belgium, Qatar, Australia and the United States. Among the Iraqi faculty were Prof. Taghreed K. Alhaidari, Sarmad Khunda, Rasha Al-Janabi and Dalia H. Al-Musawi; international contributors included Ahmed Sayasneh, Ali Kubba, Raheem Haloob, Salwan Al-Nasiry, Ahmet A. Sivaslioglu and Faysal El Kak.
ISOG itself is an officially recognized Iraqi scientific association. In December 2025, the University of Baghdad reported that Prof. Dr. Taghreed Khalil Alhaidari had been elected president of the society. Its work includes supporting research in women’s health, organizing scientific meetings, developing doctors’ professional skills and encouraging collaboration between Iraqi and international medical institutions.
